Abstract

The inertness of copper(II) complexes can be critical for applications such as 64Cu positron emission tomography (PET). Sequence analysis of the simple peptidic amino terminal Cu(II)- and Ni(II)-binding (ATCUN) motif showed a significant improvement by introducing a tryptophan at position 4, and a stronger influence of position 2 over 1.
